The Good
"Urgency" casts a dark shadow with echoed vocals and programmed
background tones. The darkened themes continue on "Animadversion." Programmed
effects are explored more as well. The chorus has a catchy hook to it. "Fly" enters
psychedelic territory with its light drum beats, faded guitars, and haunting
vocals. "Ash & Rose" is a tortured and eerie ballad. "Resistance
Lullaby"
treads the same ground, but with vocal power.
The Bad
Three instrumental tracks.
The Verdict
For their second outing, ism takes the dark and melancholy route. Urgency
has all the feel and makings of a dark and suspenseful movie. I'm sure
the album is based on a concept since the songs seem to fit together in
a
story. Just what that concept is, I can't put my finger on it.
