While usually only the biggest of superstars can wait
seven years between releases without totally wrecking their careers, Three
Miles Out has decided to make their fans wait very patiently for this new
album, their first since 2001. Though I have never heard of the band previous
to this release, I can say this album is definitely something the band's
fans can get behind because I am enjoying it very much. The band is on the
hard rocking/almost-metal side of things and the sound on this CD is very
polished.
This is definitely great music for driving, though I really couldn't
remember too much of the album once I stopped listening to it, which means
the songs could use a little bit of work to make their hooks a little more
memorable. But, other than that, this album is quite good and anyone interested
in listening to some ballsy rock and roll would be hard pressed to find
a better album released so far this year. While nothing on this CD could
be
considered groundbreaking, the band makes a solid statement with this CD
and holds their own very well. Just don't hold your breath waiting for
the next one - seven years is a long time.
